Feedback from Hack
- 14/11/2019
Hello from Team 12! In this blog we’ll discuss the feedback that we received from the Hack in which we presented the implementation of the essential game features which were presented to the project mentors.
The mentors were pleased with the Hack prototype that we produced as it showed the main commands that will allow for the player to interact with the game, the ability to kill and to heal villagers. It showed the two game views, the map view and house view, as well as the implementation of the shop for upgrades. They were impressed by the fact that we managed to maintain the dark theme and outline a basic storyline for the game.
In terms of the way in which the team was managing itself, the use of Trello was highly praised. However, a suggestion to add a ‘pending review’ column and a ‘backlog’ column was given. The ‘pending review’ column would’ve allowed the team to see which tasks have been ‘completed’ and require the need to be reviewed and the ‘backlog’ column would contain a collection of potential features which may be added to the game at a later stage rather than right now and would have allowed to maintain order in the team.
The team met up and discussed the feedback received from the mentors and decided on some steps to move forward which would allow us to prepare for the Minimum Viable Product (MVP) presentations which would consist in presenting a deployable prototype of the game which can be played but is not the release scope. This product must be polished and must not contain bugs.
